Baby slings are so handy. What an arm saver they are. I remember when we had kids young enough to use them. My wife enjoyed carrying around our little one using baby slings. And if I had known that they came in so many styles, I might have used one as well because I found some that are more, how shall I put it, more masculine looking. Studies have shown that using baby slings actually help babies feel more secure which results in reduced crying. Plus they love being close to mom or dad while resting in a comfortable position. Let’s face it, they’re easier to transport and stowaway than baby strollers.

Parents face many challenges when raising their children. We’re constantly faced with choices that can sometimes be confusing. One such area is the hunt for safe baby toys.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when you’re looking to buy something this Christmas for your child or somebody else’s:
- Inspect the toy for sharp edges or moving parts that could pinch baby’s fingers
- No strings longer than 7 inches
- Toys that have been handed down should be cleaned thoroughly and be inspected by parents closely because they may have been made during a time when regulations may be considered outdated.
- No parts should pose a risk of coming off and being swallowed
Finding safe baby toys can be fun, but should always include age-appropriateness and parental inspection.

For families with pools, it is wise to consider putting up a pool safety fence. Doing so will dramatically increase the safety of all family members especially babies and toddlers. They’re curious and when you add their surprising speed for their age, you have dangerous combination on your hands. I remember being surprised at the speed at which my toddler ended up everywhere. It made me feel like a bad parent, but in reality it was just that toddlers have an insatiable appetite so they’re always on the move to find something they can get into. If they meet up with a pool safety fence, they’re likely to give up and just go no about their business.
